Card 4 of 15 The seven practices ●○○ Foundational

Themes became practices

The 7th edition renamed the themes to practices and there are still seven: business case, organizing, plans, quality, risk, issues, and progress. They are the aspects managed continuously and in parallel throughout the project.

Why it is like this

The rename signals that they are things you do rather than topics you know, and aligns the vocabulary with ITIL 4's practices.

Not to be confused with

Phases or a sequence. All seven are live at once from start-up to closure, and each has its own management products.

In practice

"Change" became issues in the 7th edition, and "organization" became organizing — small renames that show up in every exam question.
